How do I install my fonts?

1. Locate Your File(s)
The first step you’ll need to take after downloading your font is to decompress the files. Locate your downloaded font archive (the “Downloads” folder is a likely place, or check your “Desktop”) look for a *.zip file with a numeric name.
2. File Preparation
After locating your downloaded file, double-click the icon to unzip the archive.Note: If you have purchased Mac PostScript fonts, you'll find a pair of *.zip files, within a your first extracted *.zip file: one labeled OS9* and one labled OSX*. Double click the *.zip which corresponds with your version of Mac OS.
3. Locate Your “Applications” Folder, Open Font Book
Next we’ll open the Font Book font management application that's bundled with Mac OSX 10.3 and up. Navigate to your “Applications” folder, then locate and open Font Book.
4. Choose a Collection
Choose the collection in which you want to install your font. Available options are listed in the left column of the Font Book application.
5. Add Your Font
Click the (+) button in the bottom of the font column.
6. Open the Files
In the window that pops up, select the unzipped folder containing the fonts you are installing and click “Open”.
7. Confirm Installation
Your font should now appear in Font Book (activated by default).
8. Success!
Your fonts should now be available for use in all applications!

Drag your font files from the *.zip file into another non-zipped location (like your “Desktop” or “My Documents” folder).
3. Go to the “Control Panel”
From the Start menu, choose “Control Panel”.
4. Go to the “Fonts” Folder
Double click the “Fonts” folder to open it.
Note: If you do not see a “Fonts” folder, click “Switch to Classic view in the left-hand margin”.
5. From the Fonts Window click the “File” Menu
Tip: If you are installing TrueType or OpenType fonts, click on the individual font files (ttf, otf) that you extracted to your desktop and drag and drop them into the “Fonts” folder. You can then skip the rest of this tutorial.
6. Click “Install New Font”
7. Choose Location and Locate Files
Double click the “C:” drive.
8. Double Click “Documents and Settings”
9. Double Click “[your name]”
10. Double Click “Desktop”
11. Locate Files
Double click on your extracted folder
12. Select and Install Your Files
Click the “Select All” button. Make sure “Copy fonts to Fonts Folder” is checked. Then click (OK).
13. Success
Your fonts should now be available for use in all applications!

Select all installable font files (check the file extension—these can include: *.otf, *.ttf, and *.pfm), omitting pdfs or text files included in the archive. To select multiple fonts, hold down the ctrl key while you select the fonts.
Icon Note
If you are unclear about which files are your installable font files, look for these icons. From left to right: OpenType, PostScript, and TrueType—these types of files are the only ones you will need to actually install your fonts.
5. Install Fonts
Right click your selected font files and left click “Install” from the menu that appears.
6. Success!
Your fonts should now be available for use in all applications!
